Barcelona's Best Vegan Spots

The narrow streets, the stunning architecture, the hot sun, the beautiful beaches, all of the exciting energy! Barcelona is a city that is full of life. And full of vegan food! My brother had his wedding in Girona this summer, which is about an hour North of Barcelona. And of course I spent a few days before the wedding exploring the vegan restaurants of Barcelona! Here are four must-go-to vegan spots that I found!

1. Flax and Kale
This place has an amazing menu! Flax and Kale is about 80% plant-based and has some raw options. The food has incredible flavour, and is beautifully presented as well. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this restaurant. It was more upscale than the typical vegan juice bar. Flax and Kale is great for a dinner night out.

2. BarCeloneta Sangria Bar
This place is near Barceloneta Beach. It has spanish tapas, burgers, and raw food. I had the zucchini noodles, and they were honestly the best zucchini noodles I’ve ever tasted! The dish was loaded with fresh herbs and packed with flavour. The atmosphere was very relaxed and comfortable. It’s a great place to go after a day at the beach!

3. El Cafe Blueproject
El Cafe Blueproject is very hip! It’s a 100% organic raw food restaurant in Barcelona, and is associated with the Blueproject Art Foundation. I absolutely love this place because it promotes sustainable business, which I am very passionate about. The selection of dishes varies week to week depending on seasonal products. The atmosphere is bright, open, and artsy. It’s a great place to stop for lunch when exploring the streets of barcelona.

4. Mercat de la Boqueria
This is the best-known market in Barcelona. It’s located on La Rambla. It’s not a vegan market, but there are tons and tons of fresh produce stalls! You can also find prepared smoothies and salads. Definitely go here for groceries, or even for a quick breakfast smoothie or afternoon snack.
